The Seller’s Market is Scorching Hot in the Quad Cities

A housing crisis is seemingly sweeping the nation as reports from major metropolitan areas indicate a huge increase in the amount of people swapping in their suburban life for the attractive, face-paced qualities of big city living.

Thousands of miles away from the Quad Cities, home buyers in Florida are seeing a mixed bag of millenials and snowbirds flush with cash swooping down and scooping up any and every available property for sale in the greater Orlando area. At one point, a potential purchaser even increased her offer amount by $25,000 - a move that unfortunately proved to be futile due to the sheer amount of competition in the local real estate market. Thankfully that’s not the current case here in our neck of the woods, although the QC seller’s market is quickly heating up.

Here in the Quad Cities, we fly slightly under the radar for what qualifies as an urban residential area, in our opinion. Let us explain. While it’s certainly true that Bettendorf, Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island are a few of the larger cities in the region, they definitely don’t compare to Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, or any other capital city in the Midwest...but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Truth be told, we believe that by choosing to move to the Quad Cities, new residents are able to experience the best pieces of both worlds. The Quad City area offers top-notch educational systems, affordable healthcare facilities, access to steady employment, well-paying jobs, and entertaining nightlife while simultaneously providing a potentially cozier and quieter living environment than our big city counterparts.
